You do not need to live or work nearby to use the Catholic National Library. You can become a member by post. The Library will post books to anywhere in the UK and Ireland. Simply become a member by clicking the Membership Application and apply by mail. You can then request books by e-mail or phone. The only extra cost is the postage necessary to receive and return the book. While the on-line catalogue is not yet complete, there is a New Acquisitions page to check and you may also request any book and we will let you know if it is in our collection.
Payment of the Ordinary Annual Membership fee entitles members to borrow up to five volumes at any one time and make use of the Library's enquiry services. By payment of an additional fee, members may borrow additional volumes for a period of 28 days, up to a maximum of ten volumes in all. Books may also be borrowed by post.
Payment of the Institututions/Colleges/Organisations/Media Membership fee entitles the body concerned to use the information services by letter, email, or telephone, and a named authorised representative to use the reference library for purposes related to the work of the organisation. The authorised representative may borrow up to five volumes on behalf of their organisation.
